Also, a lot of people here have their own karaoke players at home. I can easily say this because in our country, it’s normal to see karaoke machines at the malls, restaurants, bus stations, prisons, mental institutions, and even on the streets.

it does a horrible job with the graphics.Īt the end of the day whatever software you choose you must know it limitations or you will get failure.Asians, especially Filipinos, really love to sing. If you need to rip your CDG discs spend the money and get Compushow or KJams both offer rippers. these are just a few examples of Karaoke specific software geared towards the professional KJ. Compushow, KJams, Karma and even Show Presenter. Mac or PC, there are way better choices out there for the K-Jock. Hell even Serato now has a plugin to allow the use of karaoke files. for the hey can you do karaoke along with DJ'n where karaoke isn't the focus it's fine. it lacks a lot of serious features needed when running a karaoke only show. In my opinion VDJ is not really well suited for karaoke anyway.

It was still user induced and made my point. it should have just gave an error and moved on. it shouldn't crash just because you misused one of it's features. you wouldn't use a rubber mallet to pound in a nine inch railroad spike would you? remember you have to use the right tool for the job. depending on the function it's best suited for.

I just wish VDJ LE was as good as the full version as I'd have bought it to begin with and saved myself a lot of time and frustration.įirst off i'm not a fan of any one particular piece of software. I had a choice of buying a new laptop for $1000 or spending $300 on new software. Even had my 11 year old play with it, went web surfing, DL music, DMX software running - no hiccups at all. So far (2 gigs and 20 hours of testing) I've had not one issue of any kind. VDJ will run on much less machines, even old XP units. I optimized the PC, shut down everythying but it, did clean boot before a gig, etc. I'd have it lock up, have the controller go dark (have to run off the screen), have it skip (for lack of a better term) on certain songs (some all the time, others just now and then), had it close on me a couple of times for no apparent reason. Ver 2.x and 3.x both gave me fits (in an HP i7 8gb win 7 laptop and a lower end but brand new HP win 8.1 laptop). I don't know what the issue(s) were or are. Google up laptops with 4000 grade graphics - $900-1000 was the cheapest I could find. PCDJ says a laptop should have intel 4000 or better graphics on board to run their software.

I can do a standard PC monitor on a music stand, right in front of the singer or I can do a projector screen off to the side (so the singer and the audience can see it). Guess I'll have to drag each song into the non-playing deck to verify it's the correct cut. For the most part it's working but I've found a number of cuts that error out (won't load) and still others that show one thing in the search and after you load it, it's a different song. xml song database file and am having it re-build the search DB with only my karaoke library. If you're in a 1 or 2 bar area, I've had it appear to cache the entire song correctly and then halfway thru playback, BOOM! The other thing that bugs me is, if you forget to connect the hotspot, VDJ won't complain, it just fritzes out when you try to play an already-cached song.

Using a phone hotspot for unlimited content downloads seems to work, but only if you have solid service.
